Do I have to know how to box to join, or can I join having never boxed before?
Everyone is welcome, from complete beginners to seasoned fighters. Our team of coaches are experienced in teaching the basics of the sport as well as running fitness drills for the maintenance of overall health. We should also inform the long time boxers that we do have sessions aimed at developing the skills of those who practice the sport regularly!
What do I have to bring to training?
Proper workout attire is recommended for everyone wishing to take part in the classes. As training involves boxing related activity, gloves and pads are provided by the club, although you may use your own if you have them. Hand wraps are not provided by the club but may be purchased either from us or any sports store. For those wishing to spar, sparring gloves and head guards are available, but personal mouth guards are a must and may also be purchased from us or any sports store.
Does the club train outwith term time?
Due to gym regulations and schedules, unfortunately no. However, for those still around Edinburgh during the holidays wishing to train, the club has its official Facebook group which you may join and post in to meet with other members who might be interested in doing the same.
Do I have to fight?
Nobody will be made to fight if they don't want to! If you are a beginner and are looking to fight, the coaches will decide whether you are ready or not to spar in training, to prevent any serious injury.
